While Wilson was onstage, coach Reba McEntire stepped up to share her pride in all sheโs accomplished. McEntire, whoโs been an Opry member since 1986, followed up by saying:
โI was so proud of you at the ACMs the other night. And I couldnโt be more proud to be the one that helps you continue to bridge the gap between our generations. Iโd like to be the person to invite you to be an official member of the Grand Ole Opry.โ
Wilson was overcome with emotion as she hugged McEntire. She pointed out her family in the audience and shared what the Opry means to all of them:
โThey took me to Nashville when I was nine years old and we went to the Grand Ole Opry. We saw Bill Anderson and Crystal Gayle and Little Jimmy Dickens, and I knew that I wanted to play there โ I wanted to do it.โ
Wilson also noted how it was โcrazyโ to receive the invitation from McEntire since sheโs one of her greatest role models.
