Gwen Stefani Receives Backlash On Social Platform X
Gwen Stefani is facing controversy after sharing a post on X that has some fans questioning her political stance.
On March 6, Stefani retweeted a post featuring actor Johnathon Roumie being interviewed by conservative commentator Tucker Carlson.
Roumie, who plays Jesus Christ in the series The Chosen, discussed Christianity in the video, which received praise from the three-time Grammy winner.
“Wow @JonathanRoumie u r a powerful inspirational human what an what an enlightening intelligent beautiful interview thank you for being u,” Stefani wrote.
The pop star, who is married to country singer Blake Shelton, has always been open about her faith. However, it’s not her religion that has some fans upset.
Stefani’s Fans Share Their Opinions On Her Recent Post
Many were surprised to see Stefani promote an interview conducted by Carlson, who is widely known for his outspoken right-wing views and former political talk show on Fox.

Now, some are speculating that Stefani has revealed where she stands politically. This has sparked a divide among her followers. Many people responded to Stefani, sharing their disappointment in her and questioning her decision to repost the interview:
“As a day one solo career fan, who has paid top dollar to see your special post-Super Bowl show, Las Vegas residency & all of your solo tours, I am BEYOND disappointed in you; I’m simply done. You don’t owe me anything… but I also don’t owe you my dollars or respect,” one user wrote on X.
“Gwen is in her Trump era,” another commented.
“You honestly need a reality check God this is heartbreaking,” someone else wrote.
But, others came to the “Hollaback Girl” singer’s defense and showed their support for her.
“I’ve always loved your music, Gwen, but now I really love you as a person. STAY STRONG!!!” one fan exclaimed.
“Gwen, thank you for posting this and allowing the world to see how unhinged people have gotten over politics. Just take a look at the responses from your “fans” in here. I love you because you’re an OG OC badass. Hate to see ur fans lash out because you lauded an interview,” another wrote.
“Thank you for sharing! What a beautiful message from an equally beautiful soul. Love you Gwen. Never change,” replied someone else.
Stefani has never outright stated her political beliefs. In a 2021 interview with Paper Magazine, she did touch on the subject, though. She mentioned that she doesn’t think that others should know where she stands within politics, and rather keep the information private.
“I can see how people would be curious, but I think it’s pretty obvious who I am,” she said.
“The whole point of voting, is you have this personal space to feel how you feel,” she continued. “I use my platform to share my life story and to engage with people and to exchange whatever gift I was giving. I’m not a political science major. I am not that person. Everyone knows that. So why would I even talk about it?”
As of right now, Stefani has not addressed the backlash she has received on the video she reshared.
