Morgan Wallen Under Fire For Taking Phone From Security & Throwing It Off Stage
on Jun 08, 2026 • Updated Jun 08, 2026

Morgan Wallen fans are divided over whether the country star overreacted after he grabbed a phone from a security guard and tossed it across the stage.
The incident happened during Wallen’s Friday night show at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh.
In a video captured by a fan, a security guard working on the floor can be seen holding up a cellphone to record a close-up video of Wallen. Since the “Last Night” singer was only a few feet away, he noticed the phone, but he wasn’t happy about it.
While continuing to sing, Wallen walked over, leaned down, and took the phone from her hands. He then threw it hard across the stage before continuing the performance.

Videos of the moment have taken over the internet, and Wallen’s phone toss has become a major topic of debate for fans.
Some believe that it was justifiable, arguing that the guard should’ve been focused on her job rather than recording a video. Others feel that there were better ways Wallen could have handled the situation.
Morgan Wallen Fans Find Out There’s More To The Story
Later on, new details surfaced about what actually went down. It turns out the phone wasn’t the security guard’s after all. It belonged to someone in the audience.
TikTok user jcroo419 left a comment on the video revealing that the phone was his wife’s.
“It was actually my wife’s phone that got tossed,” he wrote. “She gave it to the security girl to hand up to Morgan Wallen to hopefully grab and take a selfie. Phone was recovered with no damage.”
Wallen and his team haven’t publicly addressed the situation yet.
This isn’t the only controversy the singer has found himself in over the past week.
Wallen made headlines during a stop in Denver on May 29, when he flipped over a piano after getting frustrated with technical issues during the show.
The 33-year-old also faced backlash after canceling the first night of his Pittsburgh shows. The concert was apparently called off due to expected high winds in the area, but fans who were supposed to attend the show were upset because the city never actually experienced any bad weather.
This led to speculation that Wallen may have had other reasons for the cancellation. He was accused of using the weather as an excuse to take the day off.
However, he later shared a video addressing the rumors and explained that local officials advised his team not to do the show.
