Taylor Sheridan is developing a new Yellowstone spinoff, and it looks like we might see some familiar faces in leading roles.

According to an exclusive report from TV Line, the series is rumored to feature famous actors Michelle Pfeiffer, Kurt Russell, and Patrick J. Adams, with deals reportedly in progress to finalize their involvement.

Originally titled 2024, the upcoming project is now set to be called The Madison. The show is rumored to revolve around a wealthy matriarch named Stacy Clyburn and her family as they leave New York City for Montana following the tragic deaths of her husband and brother-in-law in a plane crash, according to the news outlet.

Regarding the new series, Chris McCarthy, President/CEO of Showtime & MTV Entertainment Studios, stated:

“Within five years, we grew Yellowstone from a hit U.S. cable show with five million viewers into a global hit franchise with over 100 million fans around the world and multiple extensions — and, we’re just getting started. On the heels of 1883 and 1923’s success, our new planned spinoffs, 1944 and 2024, will take audiences on a thrilling, new and unexpected journey with the complex and compelling storytelling that has become a hallmark of the franchise and has helped turn it into a worldwide cultural phenomenon – thanks to the creative mastermind of Taylor Sheridan.”

The new show was initially announced as a sequel series rumored to be led by Matthew McConaughey. However, recent reports suggest that McConaughey may not be involved in the project due to unresolved negotiations with Paramount over his compensation. While nothing has been confirmed yet, it’s uncertain if Kurt Russell might take on the role McConaughey was reportedly set to play if he signs onto the project.

Although details about the series are slim, production on the spinoff is expected to start later this month in Montana, New York, and Texas. The show is anticipated to premiere in 2025, after the conclusion of the original Yellowstone, which is set to wrap up with the final part of Season Five airing in November.

As we wait for more details about the newly announced spinoff series, Yellowstone fans are gearing up to say goodbye to the original that started it all.

After an extended hiatus that began in 2022, during which production was halted for over a year, the wait is nearly over. Last month, Paramount Network announced that production for the latter half of Season 5 had officially resumed, with filming currently taking place in Montana. The network revealed that the new episodes are set to premiere on November 10, marking the final chapter of the series.

However, with four active spinoffs in the works, Yellowstone fans will still have plenty of Western drama to look forward to for the foreseeable future.
