Post Malone has gone country, and fans are loving it

Post Malone officially released his debut country album, F-1 Trillion, on August 16th, after months of teasing a foray into the genre. The project features collaborations with top country artists, including Dolly Parton, Morgan Wallen, Tim McGraw, Jelly Roll, Blake Shelton, Luke Combs, and more.

Upon its release, the Texas native expressed tremendous gratitude, writing:

“I am so honored to have worked with some of my favorite artists, writers, and friends… I have had the time of my life making this record, it’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, and I’m so excited for the opportunity to make it. Everyone keep expressing yourself, having fun, loving what you do, and loving each other. I love you more than I can say.”

Just hours after releasing the initial version of the album, Post Malone shocked fans by dropping an extended version titled F-1 Trillion: Long Bed, which contained nine never-before-heard songs. The additional songs are all solo tracks and do not feature any additional artists besides the pop star-turned-country singer himself.

F-1 Trillion tops the Billboard Hot 200 and Top Country Albums charts

As of Sunday, August 25th, F-1 Trillion has taken its seat in the top spot of two Billboard charts: the Billboard 200 cross-genre chart and the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. According to Luminate, the album earned 250,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. for the week ending August 22nd.

This news is not surprising, considering that F-1 Trillion sold more than 500,000 units prior to its release, making it eligible for Gold certification from the RIAA.

This is Post Malone’s sixth time having a Top 10 album on the Billboard 200, and third time reaching number one. His previous albums, Hollywood’s Bleeding (2019) and Beerbongs & Bentleys (2018), each spent a few weeks atop the chart in their respective release years. This ascent has dethroned Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department, which spent 15 nonconsecutive weeks in the top spot.

This is the 29-year-old’s first time appearing on the Top Country Albums chart, and it remains to be seen how long the reign will last.

Congrats, Post Malone! See the official music video for “Pour Me A Drink” by Post Malone featuring Blake Shelton below!
