Reba fans were delighted as she kicked off the second season of her Spotify podcast, Living & Learning with Reba McEntire, by inviting her boyfriend, Rex Linn, to share the story of how the two got together during quarantine.

The two got to know one another romantically after a decades-long friendship. They were separated by distance during quarantine, but loved having “coffee camp” dates. Often, Rex would also send Reba food as a way to connect, even though they couldn’t physically be together. On the podcast, Reba discussed some of her favorite treats that Rex sent her way, including lobster rolls and pecan pie.

The two sadly bonded over grief long before they got together. Linn’s mother passed away in 1998, and McEntire reached out to console him, letting him know that she was always just a phone call away if he wanted to talk.

Sadly, Linn got to return the favor for McEntire, as her mother was diagnosed with cancer and subsequently passed away in 2020.

On the podcast, McEntire said, “We had just found out that she has bladder cancer and you said ‘You just feel free to call me anytime you want to talk’ and I just quit texting and we’ve been talking ever since,” said McEntire. She described her bond with Linn as ” inseparable.” Fans can’t wait to see what the future holds for these two lovebirds.
