In the movie The Big Lebowski, Sam Elliott played the character “The Stranger,” who serves as a narrator of the film. The Stranger is a cowboy who wears a distinctive hat and has a slow, deliberate way of speaking.

Overall, Elliott’s role in The Big Lebowski was relatively small. But his distinctive voice and presence made him one of the film’s most memorable characters.

Jeff Bridges was the star of The Big Lebowski, as he played the main character, “The Dude.” He and Elliott recently reunited at the 2023 SAG Awards. Elliott won an award for his role in the Yellowstone prequel series 1883. Bridges was nominated in another category for his performance in The Old Man, but did not win.

The two former co-stars were seated at the same table during the SAG Awards. They were photographed together in the audience, and could be seen smiling as they chatted.

Elliott spoke to ET about how happy he was to see Bridges again. He said, “I’m sitting with Jeff at the table and I haven’t seen Jeff in quite a time. I’m really happy to be with him.

He continued to speak about how nice it was to get together with his peers at the event:

Award shows are award shows. We all love to come to them because it’s an opportunity for the community to come together, the film community,” Elliott said. “But to come to this one and be with your peers, it’s a different thing. It’s a little more special. I can’t imagine any more special acknowledgement of my work.

We know it made us happy to see Elliott and Bridges together again at the SAG Awards this year!
