THE VOICE: Karen Waldrup Delivers “Spectacular” Rendition Of “Heart Like A Truck”

Karen Waldrup quickly became the one to beat during the 25th season of The Voice. She once again proved why during Monday night’s episode (April 22).
Night one of The Voice Playoffs aired Monday with Team Dan + Shay and Team John Legend members vying for a place in the upcoming Live shows. Karen Waldrup, who landed on Team Dan + Shay after the duo blocked country superstar Reba during the Blind Auditions, covered Lainey Wilson’s “Heart Like A Truck.”
Waldrup pulled out all the stops for her dynamic performance that led John Legend to call her a “credible artist” and Reba to call her “spectacular.”
“Karen set the bar so high,” Shay Mooney said after her performance. “This was my favorite performance of yours so far,” Dan Smyers added.
That is high praise from Dan + Shay who gave Waldrup a standing ovation after her rendition of Trisha Yearwood’s “Georgia Rain” during last week’s Knockout Round. Karen defeated her teammate Ducote Talmage and earned a spot in this week’s Playoffs.

Waldrup hopes that her rendition of “Heart Like A Truck” will land her in the live shows that will kick off May 6th. Each coach will be eliminating two team members this week, leaving three moving forward to the live shows where the public will have an opportunity to vote each week.

Karen Waldrup is a musician, songwriter and recording artist from New Orleans. She has spent years building her career online and on tour, performing everywhere from Tennessee to Ireland. She boasts impressive social media stats, including more than 125 million video views and nearly 1 million followers on Facebook.
She earned chair turns from Dan + Shay and Reba McEntire during The Voice Blind Auditions. But, she automatically landed on Team Dan + Shay after the duo used their only block to keep Waldrup from choosing Reba. The pairing of Karen Waldrup and Dan + Shay has proven to be a great one as she has delivered stunning performances week after week due to their coaching.
