A dance-off between a ballerina and a horse? Yeah, you read that right.

In this OPI nail polish commercial, titled “Instinct Of Color,” several professional dancers decide to take their chances against a very beautiful, and very talented horse named Lady in Black.

Though this promo features many talented dancers, with styles from classical to modern hip hop, the real star of the show is Lady in Black. She really puts up a fight, busting out moves that you probably never knew a horse could actually perform, such as Michael Jackson’s signature move – the moonwalk.

Okay, so a horse probably couldn’t perform some of those highly complicated moves, but here’s how this one did!

According to Mathematic.tv, the creators of the commercial said,  “We animated, rendered and tracked 3D legs into many of the shots showing the horse making a series of complicated dance moves. The goal was to have a seamless photorealistic look to both animation and render. The 3D model was painstakingly matched to that of the real horse, which was then followed by our talented team of animators that worked to replicate realistic movements based on the footage of the original horse.”

Whatever they did, it’s incredibly realistic and quite impressive. The entire short film is an enjoyable watch, especially for those who adore horses as much as we do!

A definite must-see because it shows just how beautiful and graceful these animals truly are, even if some of the dance moves are fabricated a bit.
