The Hill follows up five solo albums following Lewis’ career as the lead singer of the rock band Staind.

After 15 years, seven studio albums, three live albums, one compilation album, 25 singles, and 18 music videos, Aaron Lewis stepped out on his own…and in the country music genre. He is still a member of the band. In fact, they released a new album in 2023.

Lewis’ previous country album include 2011’s Town Line, which hit No. 1 on the Country Album chart, 2012’s The Road (No. 2), Sinner (No. 1), State I’m In (No. 2), and Frayed at Both Ends (No. 5).

Lewis has always been outspoken about politics and this album will be no different.

One of the songs inspired by what was going on in our country is “Up To Me.” He imagines what would happen to the country if it were up to him.

“Let’s Go Fishing” is also one of those politically-charged songs.  In the chorus he sings,

“So let’s go fishin’, let’s go wishin’
On a star in the dark in the middle of the night
The world’s gone crazy and the shit ain’t right
Let’s go runnin’, a little backwoods hidin’
It’s all so fucked up I can’t stand it
Let’s go Karen, let’s go Brandon
And let’s go fishin'”

Although it’s only been out since midnight on Friday morning (Jan. 10), fans are already loving it. See some of their reactions below.

“True Patriot! Thank you Aaron.”

“Amazing!!! Everybody talks to God is my favorite song, we need more songs about the man upstairs thank you for your amazing work.”

“Oh man. I can already tell this albums gonna be something special. Thanks for keeping the music real and alive Aaron.”

“Great work on this one, got chills through most of it. The world certainly has gone crazy, but content like this makes it all a little more bearable.”
