Billy Ray Cyrus Files for Divorce from Firerose, Seeks Annulment on Grounds of Fraud
on Jun 11, 2024
Billy Ray Cyrus has filed for divorce from Firerose just seven months after they wed
Country singer Billy Ray Cyrus (62) and Firerose (37), whose legal name is Johanna Rose Hodges, tied the knot in October 2023. Less than one year into marriage, Billy Ray has filed for divorce from his new wife, citing irreconcilable differences as well as “inappropriate marital conduct.”
Court documents obtained by TMZ list the date of separation as May 22nd and also reveal that Billy Ray gave Firerose a date of May 24th to move out of their home. He agreed to support her to the tune of $5000 monthly to find suitable housing until the divorce is finalized. The couple do not have any children together.
Additionally, the “Achy Breaky Heart” singer is asking the court to grant an annulment, claiming that the marriage was obtained by fraud.

Billy Ray Cyrus and Firerose were friends for years before they married
The pair reportedly met years ago on the set of Hannah Montana, which starred Billy Ray’s popstar daughter, Miley. At the time, Billy Ray was married to his second wife, Tish Cyrus, with whom he welcomed three children over their 30-year marriage.
Firerose and Billy Ray began writing music together in 2020 and have since released four collaborative songs. They got engaged in 2022 and tied the knot the following year.
In April, just one month before the divorce papers were filed in Tennessee, Firerose posted a seemingly happy Instagram post commemorating six months of being married to Billy Ray. She wrote:
“Life isn’t always easy… but it sure helps when your husband’s also your best friend. Thank you Lord!”
