Gwen Stefani received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday (Oct. 20), and was moved to tears by a speech given by her husband, Blake Shelton.

Gwen Stefani has been entertaining the world since the 1990s, and now she is finally getting her name forever etched into Hollywood history! The singer began her career with as the lead singer of ska band, No Doubt, before she ventured into a highly successful solo pop career. Not only did she dominate the music business, she also took over the world of fashion and makeup over the years!

Blake and Gwen meet on The Voice.

During her decades-long career, she was asked to be a coach on the popular singing competition show, The Voice, for its seventh season. At the time she was married to Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale, with whom she shares three children – Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo. She returned to The Voice for Season Nine, but this time, she was going through a public divorce. Coincidentally, fellow coach Blake Shelton was also going through a public divorce from Miranda Lambert. Despite their stark differences, Stefani and Shelton confided in each other due to the similarities of what was happening in their personal lives.

That friendship eventually turned romantic and they married on July 3, 2021.

They support each other in both big and small moments.

In May 2023, Shelton received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Stefani was there to support him. In her speech, she said,

“The reason Blake Shelton is here today on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is because you are part of the country dream, the Hollywood dream and you are part of the American dream And everybody knows you are my dream come true. I love you.”

On October 19, Shelton returned the favor. He gave a heartfelt speech about his wife and there wasn’t a dry eye at the entire event. He started off the speech with a story of how they first met on the set of The Voice. Shelton described watching her as she drove in a black minivan with carseats in the back, and no security. As big a star as she was, he was shocked by her down-to-earth vibe.

“It was clear to me that she was a mother first and foremost over anything else in the world — that was her number one job. And now, standing here almost 10 years later after I first met her, I can say without question that being a mother is still the most important thing in her life. And I got to tell you all, that’s rare in this business.”

Stefani began wiping away tears…and so did we! Shelton joked that Stefani’s main job was being a mom and her side gig was being “one of the biggest stars in the world.”

He continued, “She has risen to the top over and over again with her unique style that has made the world fall in love with her. Not as much as me, though.”

Shelton then spoke about her star quality that can’t be learned, earned, or replicated.

“It’s that thing that she was just born with that will make you stop and go, ‘Wait. Who is that? What’s her name? What does she do? Why do I love her already? What the hell?'” he as said as Stefani laughed.

“That’s the thing that God gives you,” he said. “And without question, God gave Gwen an extra scoop of it.”

Shelton gushed about his wife’s talent as a songwriter, her passion for telling stories, and listed off a few of her accolades.

He finished his speech by saying, “But none of this would have ever happened without Gwen Stefani, the songwriter. So congratulations to my all-time favorite songwriter on your star. You deserve this and I love you.”
