It’s the question many fans have been asking for months…will Marshals and Dutton Ranch have a crossover episode?

Marshals and Dutton Ranch are spin-offs in the Yellowstone universe. They follow John Dutton’s children, Kayce (in Marshals) and Beth (in Dutton Ranch), as they navigate their new lives. Kayce remains in Montana, while Beth and her husband, Rip Wheeler, move to Texas.

Both shows premiered earlier this year (2026), with Marshals airing on CBS and Dutton Ranch streaming on Paramount+.

Which Yellowstone spin-off has more viewers, Marshals or Dutton Ranch?

From the beginning, viewers have wondered if the shows will ever cross over. Actors from both series have hinted at the possibility. As recently as September, Luke Grimes (Kayce Dutton) told TVInsider, “it’s not out of the question” that a crossover may happen.

We finally got a more direct answer from Grimes when he spoke to The Hollywood Reporter‘s Jackie Strause in coordination with the Season 2 premiere of Marshals. Unfortunately, it isn’t good news for those who’ve been dreaming of a reunion between Kayce and Beth.

When Strause expressed her understanding that there won’t be crossover episode in Season 2 of Marshals, Grimes confirmed there isn’t, saying:

“Yeah, I think we all knew it wasn’t going to happen that quickly. I think we have to let our shows stand on their own for a while, and get on their own two feet.”

But Grimes left the door open for it to happen in the future, noting:

“Beth is [Kayce’s] only living family member, other than my son [Tate], so it would make sense that at some point we would have to talk or something. I don’t think anyone’s opposed to it. I just don’t see it happening anytime soon.”

“Marshals” Just Kicked Off Its Second Season, But When Will Season 2 Of “Dutton Ranch” Premiere?

Marshals‘ production has moved swiftly. Its second season premiered on October 4, just a little over four months after Season 1 ended.

Things have progressed a bit slower with Dutton Ranch. Season 1 ended on July 3, and filming for the show’s second season hasn’t started yet.

It seems safe to assume this is one of the reasons why the shows haven’t been able to make a crossover work at this time.

Plus, Season 2 of Dutton Ranch doesn’t have a premiere date yet. All we know is that Kelly Reilly (Beth) told The Hollywood Reporter, “We’re slated to start early 2027 to film.”

We’re holding out hope that the timing will work out for Dutton Ranch to cross over with Marshals at a later date. Which show have you enjoyed the most so far?
