Carly Hinted At This Collaboration

Carly Pearce just finished traveling across the country as one of the supporting acts on Blake Shelton‘s Back To The Honky Tonk Tour. Shelton’s wife, Gwen Stefani, also tagged along for parts of the trek.

Before the tour wrapped up, Pearce told Taste of Country Nights how she’s a big fan of Stefani’s. They asked if she and Stefani would sing together before the tour ended.

Pearce played it coy. “No comment, because I don’t know, it could be happening,” she said.

That duet did end up happening…but not on Shelton’s tour. It happened during the CMT Music Awards!

CMT Drops The News

CMT announced on Tuesday (March 28) that Stefani and Pearce would unite to sing a duet during the 2023 CMT Music Awards. Fans went wild after hearing the news!

The network also revealed that Alanis Morissette would join Lainey Wilson, Ingrid Andress, Madeline Edwards, and Morgan Wade in a mega collaboration.

Stefani is not new to the CMT Music Awards. She actually has a win under her belt! She and Shelton won the award for Collaborative Video of the Year in 2020 for “Nobody but You.”

Although Stefani has won a CMT Music Award before, her performance with Carly was her first time singing during the ceremony.

Carly & Gwen’s Duet

Fans had no idea what to expect from Stefani and Pearce’s performance at the 2023 CMT Music Awards. So everyone was anxiously waiting for them to hit the stage.

Finally, Stefani and Pearce appeared and started singing “Just a Girl.” The iconic song was released by Stefani’s former band No Doubt, in 1995.

Stefani started off singing on her own. Pearce joined her midway through the song…proving that country girls can rock too!

Watch Pearce and Stefani’s duet in the clip below. It looks like they had a ton of fun singing together!
