Kelly Clarkson Performs Powerful Cover Of Lainey Wilson’s “Heart Like A Truck” During Vegas Residency
Kelly Clarkson covered Lainey Wilson‘s hit song “Heart Like a Truck” while performing during her Vegas residency. The cover came after Clarkson made it clear multiple times she’s a huge fan of Wilson’s.
Clarkson offered Wilson a shout-out in July 2023. She told her fans to listen to Wilson’s song “Wildflowers and Wild Horses” if they wanted to hear something new.

Wilson appreciated Clarkson’s nod, and said, “Well dang. This means the world from you sister. Love you.”
“Wildflowers and Wild Horses” is track #14 on Wilson’s ACM Award-winning album Bell Bottom Country. The record also includes songs such as “Watermelon Moonshine,” “Hillbilly Hippie,” and “Heart Like a Truck.”
Kelly Is A Huge Fan Of Lainey’s Album Bell Bottom Country
Wilson appeared on Clarkson’s talk show The Kelly Clarkson Show in early 2023. She shared her experience starring on Yellowstone and performed the first song she ever wrote, “Lucky Me.”
After that, Clarkson fell in love with Wilson’s music, particularly Bell Bottom Country. As she told her Vegas crowd:
“I had her on my show and I fell in love with her, and her name is Lainey Wilson. “I literally spent, in Montana…this summer I listened to this record non-stop.”

From there, Clarkson moved into a powerful cover of Wilson’s “Heart Like a Truck.” One attendee captured the cover on camera, and shared the video on TikTok.
“Kelly is so funny… I love this song and I’m so glad she covered it,” the TikTok user wrote.
