Marshals Is Returning For Season 2 In The Fall
After less than two weeks on air, Marshals was renewed for a second season. The Yellowstone spin-off made a splash in its first season, which follows Kayce Dutton begining a new chapter after his wife, Monica, dies of cancer.
At the same time, he and his Navy SEAL buddy, Pete “Cal” Calvin (Logan Marshall-Green), reunite as Cal has taken a job leading a team of U.S. Marshals in Kayce’s area.
Despite Kayce wanting to get away from the badge (in Yellowstone, it was the Livestock Commissioner badge), he felt the timing was right after his wife died to try and help other people now.
The team consisted of Andrea Cruz (Ash Santos), Belle Skinner (Arielle Kebbel), and Miles Kittle (Tatanka Means).

The team received their orders from Chief U.S. Marshal Harry Gifford (Brett Cullen), who butted heads with the team most of the time. The first season of Marshals wrapped up on Sunday, May 24th and it was left on a major cliffhanger.
The Season One finale left many questions for viewers, so we will try to answer some of them for you.
When Will Season 2 Of Marshals Premiere?
In a press release on April 15, CBS announced its Fall Primetime schedule. The announcement revealed that Marshals will premiere in the Fall.
Trackers is one of CBS’s best-performing dramas, alongside Marshals, and when it premiered in 2024, it debuted on March 3 and wrapped its 13 episode Season One on May 19. The next season, the show aired like a typical procedural drama beginning in the Fall of 2024 and ending in the Spring of 2025. Season 3 followed the same schedule.
If Marshals is to be anything like Trackers, Season 2 will premiere in October 2026 and run until May 2027, with a winter hiatus from December – January, like most network television shows.

Who Will Be Returning For Season 2 Following The Cliffhanger?
The Season One finale had cliffhangers for multiple characters, but outlets can confirm that some characters will definitely be returning for Season Two.
All season long, Andrea Cruz (Ash Santos) was just waiting for the moment she could head back to Washington, D.C., but the more time she spent in Montana, the more she fell in love with it and being part of the team. In the finale episode, Chief US Marshal Gifford revealed that she was heading back to D.C., like she always wanted. She went through much in Montana from being kidnapped, to finding love in Riley Green’s Garrett, to losing him due to a fire just one episode later. When she heard the news she was heading back home, she looked conflicted.

While we aren’t 100% sure if she will be leaving Montana for good, Santos has revealed she will return to Season Two in some capacity. In an interview with People. she said that in Season 2, “we’ll really start to see the cracks in her.”
Santos continued, “She definitely cares about her team. She’s there in spirit. But season 2, I think we’ll start to see a side of Andrea that’s almost opposite to how we met her in season 1. That’s what’s been really interesting to me.”
Miles Kettle (Tatanka Means) is reportedly back for Season 2, according to Us Magazine. Miles was just reinstated to desk duty after being suspended in Episode 12 for going rogue on a mission that put the entire team in harms way.

Us Magazine also confirms that Tate (Brecken Merrill), Mo (Mo Brings Plenty), and Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) will all be back for the show’s second season.
The cliffhanger led us to believe that Tate was in a little bit of danger because of what we learned about Tom Weaver, but nothing life threatening…yet.

Despite the assassination attempt, Rainwater and his right hand mand will be along for the ride in the Fall.

Season One ended with Belle and Cal being ambushed by two gunmen outside the home of one of Kayce’s ranch hands (who was dead upon arrival, by the way).

Cal and Belle had plans to go to Salt Lake City, Utah so Cal could receive treatment for the cancer he was just diagnosed with. Belle was the only team member to know about his diagnosis.
Marshall-Green told TVInsider that Season 2 went into production last week and said, “we’re dogging, right out of the gate, about seven, eight pages a day,” and that the second season will “pick up right where we left off, literally and figuratively. No rest for the wicked.”
Additionally, both actors confirmed their characters survive the ambush in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
Marshall-Green said, “I can confirm [Cal] is alive, but not necessarily unscathed. I think I can confirm that for everybody in the damn show, because everybody’s going through it by the end of this thing.”
Kebbel added, “I am a part of season two, yes. We start filming [season two] with a pick up of that [finale] moment. My head is so deep into season two already.”
Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) is also confirmed to be returning for Season Two. His storyline will continue with him rebuilding East Camp following the fire that took Garrett’s life, and creatine an equine therapy center for veterans in his honor. His blossoming romance with Dolly Weaver will also likely be part of his storyline, but fans imagine this won’t last long seeing as her father is the surprise villain of the show.

Our theory is that Tom Weaver wants all the violence to occur on East Camp so Kayce will sell it to him, but Kayce turned down his offer in Episode 12. That’s why he orchestrated the assassination attempt against Rainwater.
Time will tell, and we know we can’t wait for Season Two!
