Robert Irwin Makes Red Carpet Debut With Girlfriend

Sorry, ladies. Robert Irwin is spoken for. The son of late wildlife conservationist and television personality Steve Irwin went public with his girlfriend over the weekend.
Robert Irwin and Rorie Buckey, the niece of late actor Heath Ledger, walked the red carpet at the Australian premiere of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning One. The premiere took place in Sydney on Monday, July 3.

Rorie is the daughter of Heath Ledger’s sister, Kate. Robert and Rorie, both 19, were first rumored to be dating late last year after the latter was seen hanging out with the Irwin family at their Australia Zoo late last year.
Not much is known about Buckey, but in June Robert told Access Hollywood what qualities he wants in a “perfect mate.”
“Someone down to earth. Someone kind, and someone who’s just cruisey (an Australian word meaning stress-free) and that you can really have a good conversation with and that can challenge you,” Irwin said.

Fans of the Irwin family have been heavily invested in the lives of Robert and his sister, Bindi, since the death of their father in 2006.
Steve Irwin died after he was pierced in the chest by a short-tail stingray while filming in the Great Barrier Reef. Robert was only 2-years-old when his father died.

Robert followed in the footsteps of his famous “Crocodile Hunter” dad with his passion for wildlife conservation, education and management of the Australia Zoo. The teen and his sister, Bindi, have reached celebrity status in Australia and in the United States due to their television show appearances and public persona.
