Clint Eastwood Makes Rare Public Appearance 3 Years After Latest Movie Release
Clint Eastwood made a rare public appearance a few months before his 94th birthday.
Despite his age, Eastwood remains active as a director and actor. In fact, his determination to keep pursuing his passions inspired Toby Keith to write his song, “Don’t Let the Old Man In.”
When recalling the story behind the song, Keith said he once asked Eastwood how he keeps going at his age. He responded, “I just get up every morning and go out. And I don’t let the old man in.”
Keith knew he had to write a song based on Eastwood’s words. That became “Don’t Let the Old Man In.”
He sent the song to Eastwood, and he loved it. Eastwood featured the track in his 2018 movie The Mule.

Keith (who was diagnosed with stomach cancer in 2021) delivered a moving performance of “Don’t Let the Old Man In” during his final televised appearance at the People’s Choice Country Awards in September 2023. He died just five months later at the age of 62.
Eastwood paid tribute to Keith after his death. He wrote, “[I’m] Extremely Saddened by the passing of Toby Keith, Rest in peace my friend…”
Eastwood’s life truly mirrors what Keith sang about in “Don’t Let the Old Man In.” The actor and father of eight appeared in his latest movie, Cry Macho, in 2021.
Now, 94-year-old Eastwood is gearing up to release another film.
In April 2023, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed Eastwood is directing a new movie called Juror No. 2. Nicholas Hoult and Toni Collette were cast in the project. Production started in June 2023.
Eastwood Photographed & Filmed Supporting Friend Jane Goodall At Event In California
In the midst of his filming schedule, Eastwood made a rare public appearance during a recent event in California. The event was for his friend, 90-year-old conservationist Dr. Jane Goodall.
A photo surfaced on LinkedIn of the actor interacting with Goodall at the event, which occurred in March, a few months before Eastwood turned 94.
Fred Greenstein, who attended the event and shared the photo of Goodall and Eastwood on LinkedIn, said:
“Went to see Jane Goodall speak in Carmel. At 90 years old, she is truly a saint. Shared lessons from living with apes and her passion for protecting the planet. Talking with Jane here is a very disheveled Clint Eastwood.”
PageSix obtained and published additional photos of Eastwood at the event, which you can view in their report about the sighting.
The appearance marked Eastwood’s first time being seen in public in five months. He was last spotted working on the set of Juror No. 2, which PageSix says is expected to be his last film.
