Colt Ford Suffered A Serious Heart Attack Following A Concert On April 4

Colt Ford shared a video message from the hospital to update his fans after suffering a near-fatal heart attack earlier this month.

Ford performed a sold-out show in Gilbert, Arizona on April 4. After the show ended, Ford suffered a massive heart attack on his tour bus. 

The 53-year-old country artist and songwriter was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit at the Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona for treatment.

A few days later, Ford’s rep provided a statement to Country Rebel about the singer’s condition. They said:

“Ford remains in the ICU, with his condition steadily improving in a positive direction. At this time, his family is requesting privacy and appreciates your continued thoughts and prayers.”

On April 15, Ford’s team announced he would be canceling all of his shows through the end of August. 

“Due to current circumstances, Ford’s scheduled tour dates through August 30th have been canceled,” his team shared. “Refunds are available at the point of purchase for any canceled dates. Previously purchased tickets will be honored for any rescheduled dates.”

27 concerts were affected, though four of them were able to be rescheduled.

His Condition Was Serious – He Says He “Died Two Times”

Ford recently spoke out for the first time following his heart attack. He talked with the Big D & Bubba radio show and shared how serious his situation was.

The singer revealed he “died two times.

He flatlined after suffering the heart attack on his bus and was revived by emergency personnel. He flatlined again en route to the hospital and was revived a second time.

Ford’s good friend and fellow country artist, Brantley Gilbert, accompanied him to the hospital. Once there, Ford had three stents put in.

Now that he’s recovering, Ford is grateful he’s still here to make music and share it with the world.

The Lord had more for me to do. I have more music to make and hopefully some more differences to make in people’s lives,” he said.

Colt Ford Shares A Video From His Hospital Bed To Update Fans On His Condition

On Wednesday (April 24), Ford shared a video message from his hospital bed to let fans know how he’s feeling.

I got a long way to go,” he said. “But I promise you this old country boy will get back. It probably won’t be this year, and I hate I gotta miss all these shows. But I’m coming back. I am coming back.

Ford also shared his love for his fans and thanked them for all of their prayers and thoughtful messages.
