Released as the lead single from Lainey’s new album, “Hang Tight Honey” is already making waves. Co-written by Lainey herself, along with Jason Nix, Paul Sikes, and Driver Williams, and produced by the legendary Jay Joyce, this track is a certified banger! Inspired by her life on the road, Lainey poured her heart into this song, and it shows.
Ever felt the tug-of-war between chasing your dreams and missing home? Lainey’s got you covered. With lyrics like “I got a bus ‘fore I got a house ’cause that’s what dreams make you do” and “You can’t hold me, and I can’t hold you from two time zones away,” she perfectly captures the bittersweet reality of life on the road.
As Lainey puts it:
“I’ve been runnin’ the roads nonstop for a few years now and I ain’t gonna lie to y’all, sometimes it can be tough being away from home that much. At the same time, remembering what ‘home’ is and the things that I get to do for the ones I love because of the work I put in is what keeps me going and makes it all worthwhile.”

Lainey first debuted “Hang Tight Honey” at the 59th ACM Awards on May 16. She then brought the single to the finale of The Voice on May 20.
Lainey Wilson excitedly shared a few teaser photos from her music video, announcing the full video would drop on July 3. With a fun ’60s-inspired look, Lainey wore a blue outfit with buttons on the side and a classic bouffant hairdo.
Lainey took the exciting announcement a step further, revealing in the caption:
“Y’all tune in and stick around until the end for a little surprise,” with a winky face emoji.
Safe to say, we couldn’t wait to see what the surprise was!

The video opens with Lainey and her band, dressed as ’60s popstars, hopping off of her bus to film a performance. It cuts to show Lainey dancing around onstage to “Hang Tight Honey” while her band plays along.
As the video progresses, Lainey and her band travel across the country on their bus. They also seem to travel through time as they change into clothes resembling their more modern selves. The group participates in another performance, throwing in a few more fun dance moves in the process.
The video also explores a budding romance between Lainey and one of her crew members. That’s where the surprise comes in, as the clip ends with the text “To be continued” over a shot of Lainey and her love interest holding hands while their bus drives away.
Lainey revealed on social media that the “Hang Tight Honey” video is the first part of a video series. It will continue with a video for another one of her new songs, “4x4xU,” on July 4th!
