The Season 22 finale episode of American Idol showcased an array of the contestants’ talents, offering them the opportunity to perform multiple songs in their final bid to secure the coveted crown.

Among the standout moments of the three-hour finale episode was Will Moseley’s heartfelt tribute to his hometown through an emotional rendition of “My Town” by Montgomery Gentry.

Will Moseley, country rock singer from Hazlehurst, Georgia, has been a fan favorite ever since his initial American Idol audition, where he wowed judges with his performance of an original song, “Gone For Good.” Now, fast-forward to today, Moseley has rightfully secured a coveted spot in the Top 3, cementing his status as a standout contender in the competition.

Tonight’s finale episode commenced with a special performance featuring the Top 3 contestants and guest mentor Jon Bon Jovi, who mesmerized the audience with a rendition of “Livin’ On A Prayer.” This set the stage for an electrifying evening filled with exceptional musical displays.

Adding to the emotional depth of the finale, the episode captured the emotional reunions of the Top 3 contestants – Abi, Jack, and Will – with their respective hometowns. These heartfelt reunions not only showcased the contestants’ gratitude and transparency but also provided a glimpse into the formative experiences that shaped their musical journeys.

For Will Moseley’s hometown tribute performance, he serenaded the audience with “My Town” by Montgomery Gentry.

This iconic song, released in 2002, resonates deeply with the essence of small-town life, emphasizing the strong sense of community and identity found in such places.

Inspired by his hometown of Hazlehurst, Moseley’s raw and emotional performance of the song truly shone through, resonating deeply with the audience.

During his visit to his hometown, Moseley expressed his deep love for it, sharing, “This is ‘Small Town, USA.’ This is what it’s all about.”

The American Idol finalist also visited the elementary school he once attended to meet with his “youngest supporters.” During his visit, the students performed his original song for him, creating a heartwarming moment on stage.

“It’s a different feeling when people sing your song back to you. But when you walk into a school full of kids and you’re talking about young kids and they know every word…I don’t know how to describe it.”
